University of Sinop Fisheries Faculty

Sinop University's Faculty of Fisheries was established in 1982 as a four-year college affiliated with Ondokuz Mayıs University and converted into a faculty in 1992. It was incorporated into Sinop University in 2007. The faculty aims to conduct scientific research to ensure the sustainability of water resources and to train engineers in aquaculture. It adopts a protective approach to water resource management and, through its educational activities, contributes to the region and the country by conducting national and international scientific studies. It also conducts research in key areas such as seafood processing, sustainable fisheries, and the reduction of marine and inland water pollution. Its academic staff and research infrastructure provide students with theoretical and practical training to develop qualified engineers in the sector. Nestled among the natural beauty of Sinop, the faculty remains a significant center for its national and international projects. Students are trained to contribute to global developments in aquaculture engineering with the knowledge and experience they gain. The faculty develops solutions to the needs of the aquaculture sector through research projects and practical studies, thus playing an active role in addressing both local and global challenges.
